2019 Competitions

In partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society, the 2019 Hanson Box included a ‘Spectacular Plants’ kit along side a Spectacular Plants and How to Grow Them book.

The kit included seeds of the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) and a drawing competition which invited children to imagine and draw their own ‘spectacular plant’!

Hundreds of drawings were submitted – some showing ‘teacher-eating plants’, others depicted plants that grew chocolate bars and sweets! The entries we received showed incredible imagination and great artistic skill.

The Hanson Box team selected three winners, each of which were sent their very own ‘mini-jungle’ of exotic plants which they could grow at their school, using the Spectacular Plants and How to Grow book sent in the 2019 Hanson Box.
